Amazing Wrestling GIFs

I was a huge wrestling fan back in the day. It seems like when you compare wrestling of the 90's to wrestling of the 2000's, there were a lot more screw-ups. You really don't see any classic wrestling fails from the 2000's.

UPDATE: As was pointed out by @WrestleMation, 2 of the 3 GIFs I have listed here were from the 2000's. That means my original assessment was a mere 33% correct. The Sandman GIF (the first one) and the one where the guy goes head first into the railing (Lucha) are both from the 2000's.

Proof of that is this hilarious article I found that has 21 hilarious wrestling GIFs in it. Here are my 3 favorites from the site.

ChefDiddy Breakdown: The Shockmaster Debut

The ShockmasterFirst impressions mean everything. It's great if you have rock hard abs, defined pectoral muscles, and sprinkle unicorn dust atop every meal. However unless you were just served a meal and happen to be shirtless when you are first introduced to someone, that doesn't get you very far in the impression department.

Think of the person I mentioned above at a bar. He goes up to mildly attractive female and as he's introducing himself, he's stammering like an idiot and spills some of his Sex on the Beach on the woman. He is never going to get close to her vagina.

First impressions are exceptionally important in the wrestling world. If you fuck it up, the fans will never like you and it's over before it even begins. Here's a case study of such an event.

It features Fred Ottman who is more commonly known as Tugboat or Typhoon. He had just left the WWF and was making his debut in the WCW during an interview segment hosted by Ric Flair titled "A Flair for the Gold". Sting, Dusty Rhodes, and Davey Boy Smith were going to be matched up against Sid Vicious, Big Van Vader, and the tag team Harlem Heat. Since that equates to a 4-3 match, Sting's team was going to announce their special partner during this segment.

ChefDiddy Breakdown: Robocop Saves Sting

capital combatBack in the late 1980's and early 1990's 2 things dominated male headlines: RoboCop and Sting. RoboCop debuted in 1987 and quickly became an icon amongst men. He was a cyborg and he kicked ass. Sting was the classic "good guy" wrestler aka the face. He consistently battled and defeating the bad guys of the wrestling world. Both of them stood for what was right int he world.

On paper, if you were to combine these 2 forces together you would achieve greatness. Something probably involving unicorns and midgets. And leather chaps and whipped cream.

In reality, you get something entirely different.
